ASM President Professor Datuk Dr Asma Ismail FASc and ASM Vice-president Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc were invited to meet with the Malaysian Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) on 19 July 2018.
The briefing to the CEP by ASM was titled “Reinventing National Innovation Ecosystem for a Progressive Malaysia”.
Philippine Science High School (SOCCSKSARGEN Region Campus) who represented Team Philippines B emerged as the overall champions of the 7th ASEAN Plus Three Junior Science Odyssey (APT JSO). The overall runner-up title went to Sekolah Menengah Sains Kuching Sarawak representing Team Malaysia D. Meanwhile, Team Republic of Korea B, which was represented by students from different schools, took home the title of the overall second runner-up.
Receiving the invitation to the CERN Summer School Program (CSSP) was a joyous surprise. I couldn’t believe that I will have a chance to be at the most sophisticated scientific experiment in the world and to work with some of the best scientist.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) invited the Academy of Sciences Malaysia to nominate experts for consideration as Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors, or Review Editors for the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
