On 29 July 2024, ASM hosted Japan’s LDP, led by Mr Tokai Kisaburo. Discussions covered education, science, green technology, and Malaysia-Japan collaborations, including the University of Tsukuba’s first branch in Malaysia.
Dr. Ranjeet Bhagwan Singh was a medical scientist who improved diagnostic labs in Malaysia. He started a fund to support education for the underprivileged. Each year, the RBS Research Grant helps one young Malaysian scientist with medical research.
In May 2024, ASM nominated Dr. Melissa Lim Siaw Han from UNIMAS for the AASSA Prof Yoo Hang Kim Young Women Scientists Award. She won and attended the MASCC Annual Meeting 2024 in France.
The 10-10 MySTIE Framework is a tool to help transform Malaysia's science, technology, innovation, and economy (STIE) ecosystem. Launched in 2021, it has been downloaded over 16,000 times from more than 80 countries.
